In my work I bring together my lifetime of experiences of global travel, being an artist, a professor, and writer. Owned an art gallery in Las Vegas where we also published artist portfolios. International travel has been the foundation of my entire career.
Workshop teacher in photography. Tour Leader and SME for the Smithsonian Institution, Road Scholar, and several universities. Have led tours to France, Peru, Mexico, American Southwest, and Southeast Asia.
Documentary filmmaker since age 18 working from Yucatan to Machu Picchu, the American Southwest, and throughout East and South Asia. On-Camera presenter, speaker, or researcher for A&E, CNN and PBS. Owner of eLearning Media, Inc.
Gallery representation and exhibition of my photography at age 22. Was represented by OK Harris Gallery (Ivan Karp) in SoHo, NYC. Solo and group exhibitions throughout the United States, Mexico, and Europe. Work represented in the collections of several prominent museums.
Presently a Professor of Global Art History at the College of Southern Nevada. Awarded 2021 Outstanding Professor Online Teaching in Nevada. Have taught for University of New Mexico, University of Nevada, and University of California, San Diego. Numerous public speaking events.
Numerous essays, journal articles and contributions to books. Recent books Motel Vegas (2019), Handbook For A Burning Age (with Will Roger 2022). Currently writing Breathing Angkor, a series of short essays based on personal experiences, cultural and religious histories of Angkor, Cambodia.
