My focus is on building courses that help chart your travels and inspire creativity. Every course I teach is based on a lifetime of globetrotting and a career in the arts. Since I teach from where I travel new ideas continuously evolve.

One of my most memorable days of travel. Photographing with my 8x10" view camera on the Irrawaddy Plains in Northern Myanmar. My assistant Kyawswe set this picture up for the moment when the daily cattle drive passed by the Buddhist temples. 2005.

We live in a time that doesn't prioritize educational enrichment for its own sake. Yet, a study of the liberal arts and humanities guides us toward those emotional and intellectual skills that make us human. Knowledge and awareness that I continue to seek through my global travels.

Let's Go ! Southeast Asia...well, part of it.

This is an actual on the ground tour where we travel together.
From my home in Siem Reap, I will travel with my assistant Mr. Sim, through Cambodia, Thailand, and Laos.
For the Myanmar section I will share past experiences and video content made with friends there.
Everyday I interact with you at home though video, community posts, and live feeds.
You will follow my itinerary online that includes
visiting monasteries, talking with Buddhist monks, journeys on the Mekong River, and celebrating life in Southeast Asia.
You will learn about the contemporary traditions of Theravada Buddhist practice while also learning about
the spiritual, religious, royal, and social origins of Southeast Asian Culture.
You will have access to downloadable learning materials and even quizzes for those who like to test what they are learning.
At the journey's end, each participant will receive a copy of my journal and some of the photographs made.
By the time you eventually make it to Southeast Asia in person, you will already have created memories.

For more than two decades, I have served as a Professor of Global Art and Culture at the College of Southern Nevada in Las Vegas. In 2009, I decided to transition from traditional classroom teaching to embrace the world of online education and remote teaching. This shift allowed me to explore and share my expertise in subjects such as Art History, Photography, and Film Studies across various continents, including Asia, Europe, and from regions in the Ancient Americas like Peru, Yucatan, and the American Southwest. Through my virtual teaching platform, I have extended the unique learning experiences that were once exclusive to university students to a wider audience of curious travelers and enthusiastic learners who share similar interests and passions.
