Course Curriculum

Fred Sigman

I am a professor of global art history, author, and media producer, who has been traveling the world since the young age of 10.

In 1999 I was hired as Professor of Art History at the College of Southern Nevada, where I remain on faculty. A condition of my hire was to contribute to the growing development of Distance Education, or online teaching. From stone tablets to digital tablets, the technology and ways of teaching have grown in ways totally unforeseen. And for the better.

Today, my home is in Siem Reap, Cambodia. Seven kilometers from the world-famous World Heritage Site of Angkor. Over the years, I have migrated from teaching in the classroom to teaching from remote locations around the world. It began with a simple idea in 2008: Teach Asian Art FROM Asia to students in America. Or, from where I happened to be. Along the way, I have developed digital content that has advanced education from learning through a computer to fully integrated systems and methods of instruction that provide the student with an immersive experience and connection with me, fellow students, and the study materials.

And, most of all, an opportunity to experience the world through my teaching and journeys.

With WanderSight I now offer continuing education-style courses for the curious learner and traveler.
